THE MEANING BEHIND THE METAL

Some things are worn.
Others become part of you.

The Earth created the materials. We give them form. You give them meaning.

THE SELECTED EDIT

Modern heirlooms.

Distinct in form. Connected by intention.

Silver octagonal signet ring with an interwoven red enamel knot and a horizontally textured face, on a black velvet stand

A CONNECTION THAT ENDURES

Red String Theory
Signet Ring.

Rooted in Chinese mythology, the Red String of Fate tells of an invisible thread connecting people across time, place, and distance. The thread may stretch or tangle, but it never breaks.

An interwoven red enamel knot carries that idea across a textured silver face, framed by a polished octagon. The connection it represents extends beyond romantic love to friendship, family, and the people whose lives become woven into our own.

COMMISSIONED WORK

Your story.
Given form.

Some stories deserve a form of their own. A memory, a meaningful connection, or a symbol of something deeply personal can become the inspiration for a one-of-a-kind piece.

Designed for a friend in memory of her father, this sunflower pendant marked his birthday. The flower and the initial A give the remembrance its own distinct form.

Every commission begins with a story worth telling. Perhaps yours is next.

THE SPIRIT OF STEVENSON JAMES

Personal stories.
Given lasting form.

Inspired by the loss of a mother, the lotus pendant brings together remembrance, love, and the bond shared. Its lotus, Dharma wheel, and endless knot express renewal, the cycle of life, and an enduring connection.

That pendant became the starting point for Stevenson James Studio. Its personal origins continue to shape the design approach, alongside an interest in historical symbols, natural forms, and the possibilities of metal.

LILY OF THE VALLEY

From an idea
to something tangible.

The same form, in two materials. A resin model sits beside its metal counterpart: four small bells, an arching stem, and a leaf that gathers the composition together.

Seen side by side, they offer a closer look at the journey from design to a piece of jewelry.

01 / DESIGN

Where ideas take shape.

Every design begins with something worth exploring. Sometimes it's a personal symbol or a story to tell. Other times, it's the challenge of bringing an idea to life. Through a blend of digital design and creative exploration, those ideas begin to find their form.

02 / DEVELOPMENT

An evolving craft.

There's a constant exchange between imagination and technique. Experimentation, hands-on experience, and an appreciation for traditional metalsmithing shape the process, allowing each design to evolve through discovery, refinement, and a willingness to try something new.

03 / FINISH

The details make the difference.

Texture, contrast, and finish bring a design into focus. The warmth of polished gold, the depth of oxidized silver, or the quiet character of a satin surface—each detail is considered for what it brings to the piece as a whole.
